Weeks 3-8
HEALTH
Weight: 230.0
Status: Bad
I've seriously slacked on losing weight after that first week. It's been varying up and down with irregular excercise and diet routines. Now that I'm at work, I can be more in control of what I eat due to the solid schedule. I planned to workout every morning for 30 minutes or so but lazyness has been grabbing me lately. I need to up the pace!

Status: Bad
I haven't practice in weeks now. With finals and general lack of dedication to it, I'm really disappointed that I haven't been able to stay consistant with it.

Status: Amazing
So alot has happened in the last few weeks in this area. Through odd circumstances, a friend of mine since September is now officially my girlfriend! I was her shoulder during a breakup and since then we've bonded on a level we didnt know we had with each other. She's amazing. The first girl in a while I feel I can be completely myself around and not be judged. We get each other and have very compatible personalities and senses of humor. She's a keeper :)

Week 2: 11/31 - 12/6
Weight: 229.0
Status: Great
To think I just started last Wednesday! It's amazing what cutting calories and excercise can do in not even one full week. Starting Wednesday, I've went on DDR one or twice a day and cut my calorie intake to less than 2k a day, around 1-1.5k... Which is definitely a nice change from my usual 3k+. I've lost more than 10 pounds in one week... Amazing! I have finals this week, but I'm not going to let that interfere with my workout routine. Let's see what I can do by next week.

Status: Good
I've been practicing regularly, on all almost daily basis. Things are looking good, and I noticed im able to play slightly more consistently than before. I tried learning hotel california, but it's still a bit early.

Week 1 : 11/23-11/30
Weight: 239.8
Status: Abysmal
This past week may have been the worst in the year to begin keeping track of progress. It was thanksgiving break and along with turkey, I had highschool friends come back home. We threw a bday party for me with plenty of pizza, drinks, and cake. Also, each time I hung out with these guys we ate and drank the worst shit nonstop.
According to the Body Mass Index, my BMI as a person with a height of 6'2 is 30.7. In other words, I just crossed the line from what's considered overweight to obese. Not good, talk about a wake up call! Ultimately my goal would be to reach a weight of around 190, which according to the Body Mass Index, is 'normal weight' for my height. Interms of visual progress, I'm believing it.
Aside from eating, I only excercised once for a period of an hour. I really need to see to it that I massively cut down on my calorie intake and excercise daily from here on out. I'm excited to see what weight I'll stand as by next Monday.

Status: great
Last week I managed to see myself practicing guitar alomst everyday for the 30 minutes recommended. I practiced different scales, chords, songs, and speed. Right now it seems I moreso need to focus on keeping my technique persistent and fluently play a song without much error. I've yet to play ironman perfectly! However, I did manage to play the chords with scratches of Paradise City successfully this week!

So this week I began talking to a girl named Meredith briefly. I found her on OkCupid and we spoke about twice or so. We definitely have compatables senses of humor, but lately she more or less fell off the face of the earth. Oh well.
Earlier this week I got messaged by a girl I know named Dyan. She truly is a beautiful woman and the message caught me offguard; it's been a while since I've spoken to her . There may or may not be some interest there. I think I'll ask her out in a few weeks, I'm burnt out and broke from going on a new date every week.
Also, Gerrica - one of the more attractive girls i dated who never got back to me - got herself a relationship and spams her facebook about being 'stoked that she's with her man'. I'm happy for her, my time will come soon I hope. I guess it it worth enduring the hardship of dating. Afterall, only one girl will be your girlfriend (the good lot of us anyway!).

Op Scorp- The Beginning. 11/23/2009
WORKOUT
Today will be the start of my new weight loss plan. From here on out, I'm going to try and control portions to about 1000 calories a day during my rapid weight loss plan.
Exercise - Since I'm now on thanksgiving break, I plan on doing two hours of cardio every day. Cardio of choice - taekwondo stretches and DDR
My end goal is to feel great about the way I look, and be in strong enough shape to pick up where I started in Taekwondo; rejoining and going from my brown belt to my black belt.
MUSICAL
Ever since I was 13, I've always wanted to play guitar, and play it good. I currently own a Fender Stratocaster and know some rough riffs of a few songs like knights of cydonia, one, paradise city, machine head, right now, and ironman.
My plan here is to practice guitar each day for atleast 30 minutes; varying from chords, to scales, to songs. The song I'm currently working on getting down is Paradise city. I'm hoping by next november I'll be confident enough in my ability that I can truly follow my aspiration of playing in a band, regardless of success
ROMANCE
Here it is, the ultimate goal I would like to work on. My entire life I've lacked the confidence to approach women, yet alone attempt to attract them to me. It's a large part of my life that I've been unsatisfied with for so long, and my ultimate goal of this project is to meet someone special or atleast be very confident and experienced on all turfs of dating from the courting to the physical/emotional.
So far I really begun working on this since past fall. In other words, this is my first true year in all my life that I've begun dating. I grew up in a very conservative household and unlike other kids, my Dad didn't teach me how to talk to girls or how to attract them. My peers growing up didn't have much success on this front either.
As of fall I've dated 7 girls. I'll track each and what went wrong:
-Kim - Nice girl, however slightly overweight. I was not attracted to her
-Ashley - Nice girl, but Clingy. I was attracted to her to a degree, but cut communication with her due to several things she revealed about her life: having a daughter, being married, and leaving to deployment soon.
-Kaila - Met her online, looked nothing like her pictures. We got along great, but I was not attracted to her physically in the least.
-Julia - Beautiful intelligent girl I met in my French class. Unfortunately, although I was attracted to her, she didn't feel the same. Issues: I was slightly intimidated and uncomfortable by her beauty (sad as that sounds), split the lunch bill (ugh), and said some jumpy things due to my lack of comfort.
-Gerrica - Beautiful girl who I was very attracted to, albeit bitchy. I felt a strong connection with her and physical comfort was well established on the first date. However, it didn't go past that. My guess? Same as what happened with Kaila and Kim but reversed - she was not physically attracted to me.
-Jaymi - Looked nothing like her pictures, was insecure about her looks, and is a virgin. Constantly commented on her looks post meeting saying I 'must've expected someone much hotter'. Eh, I can't control what you choose to sell yourself as online, but in the end it's your RL image that matters. That blunder was her fault, not mine.
-Katie - Beautiful girl, although on our date she seemed very physically reserved. Possible issue - not physically attracted. Was denied a 2nd date.
7 blunders in a row, but hey, I grew a very thick skin in the process, began dating progressively more attractive women i've felt attracted/comfortable with. I currently plan to read what I can via different sources just to try and catch up on the many years of dating and communication with women I've missed on in my life.
My plan: date, date, and date some more. Be riskier interms of flirting and physical contact (im talking holding hands, etc) on first dates to build attraction. Read what resources I can find.
Operation Scorpio - A Personal Progress Blog
Let me start by saying what exactly 'Operation Scorpio' is. Ever since I was little, I've been out of shape and unsuccessfully in meeting women or accomplishing my goals. As of this past summer, that has changed. I've dated a couple women, and I have a decent social pulse. However, I am still out of shape.
The title - 'Operation Scorpio' - is the timeframe I am giving myself to complete the following goals:
- Get in very good shape (I'm currently 6'2 at 232 pounds, very low muscle mass. I'd like to be at 205, high muscle mass. In other words, i hope to gain roughly 30 pounds of muscle and lose 60 pounds of fat in a year; very intense goal).
- Successfully date at least one woman I would consider an 8 or higher (multiple dates, getting physical, hopefully stable relationship)
- Play all of 'One' and 'Hotel California' on guitar
So in the end:
-Get in shape
-Be successful with women
-Accomplish my desire to skillfully play guitar.
The name comes from the Scorpio Zodiac period. I am giving myself until November 18th, 2010 to accomplish these goals, and I will post weekly updates in regards to my successes or backtracks. Hopefully, this will be something I can look back on next November and smile at the progress I have accomplished. Also, I hope upon that completion, I can provide a great step by step how to success story for those struggling to accomplish the same goals.
